While at Hasbro, Grant held franchise marketing roles globally for the Marvel business and across EMEA for Transformers and Nerf. Most recently he held the position of licensing director for Toys and Games EMEA.

As Sambro’s Commercial Director, Grant will support all areas of the business with the aim of broadening Sambro’s reach into premium toy space and new retailers. Ranges will be developed with channels and consumer insights front of mind. Sambro has invested heavily in product development over the last two years and Grant’s marketing programs will be developed with asset toolkits and will see the company bring some of their new and innovative product to TV for the first time in 2017.

Grant commented: “Sambro is a great company and I’m thrilled to take on this new role and help to continue their impressive growth. The team at Sambro are incredibly passionate and I share their drive and ambition to evolve the current business and take on new challenges: It’s time to re-think what you know about Sambro. We’ve been incredibly successful to date but our capabilities far exceed our current offering. As we look to the future we have plans to develop truly unique feature driven products that have the potential to be marketed and ranged in core permanent retail space.”

Tom Duffy, MD at Sambro, added: “Grant joins us at a really exciting time for Sambro. Our intensive growth means that we need people of Grant’s calibre to help drive the business forward in line with our ambitious plans. It was essential to Sambro to find someone who understands the considerable presence we have achieved, not just in the UK but globally, and Grant will be instrumental in further cementing Sambro’s reputation as one of the major players in the toy industry”.

Grant will be based in the Manchester office as well as Buckinghamshire, giving Sambro an increased presence in the South.
