Hamleys is to open as a tenant in Stockmann’s Helsinki flagship premises.
The store will open in November 2015 on the department store’s sixth floor. Hamleys and Stockmann are looking into cooperation possibilities in Stockmann’s other department stores in Finland from 2016 onwards.
Björn Teir, director of Real Estate at Stockmann, commented: “We are very proud to introduce Hamleys to our customers. Hamleys is a legend in its field and the new store and unique concept will bring new experiences and fun for both children and their parents.”
Alasdair Dunn, deputy CEO of Hamleys, added: “We are very excited to be partnering with Stockmann to bring the magic of the Hamleys brand to the children and families of Finland.”
Stockmann began its cooperation with Hamleys back in summer 2014 in Russia, where a Hamleys toy shop was opened in the Nevsky Centre in St Petersburg. The launch of the first Hamleys shop in Finland is a continuation of this successful partnership.
