Harry Potter to hit the West End

JK Rowling is to co-produce the new stage play based on her best-selling Harry Potter series of books.harry-potter-and-the-sorcer

The play, to be headed up by prominent London and New York producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, will focus on the previously untold story of Harry Potter’s early years as an orphan and outcast.

It is understood that Warner Bros., the studio behind the Potter pictures, will be involved in the development of the theatre show, just as it was with the Sam Mendes musical version of Roald Dahl’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, which is currently running at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane

A theatre has yet to be negotiated, but this is sure to be set in stone well before the expected start of the run in 2015.
