Hasbro partners with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Published on: 29th August 2017

Partnership will increase awareness of rehoming process and encourage adoption of rescue dogs.

Spearheaded by FurReal Friends, Chatty Charlie The Barkin’ Beagle and his friend Conker, with Hasbro’s support, will highlight the importance of rehoming rescue animals at one of the UK’s oldest and most famous animal rescue centres.

Chatty Charlie the Barkin’ Beagle is a cuddly dog with a collar that translates his 80+ barks into phrases to reveal exactly what he is thinking and feeling. With ears that move, Charlie also responds to touch, cuddles, and wags his tail when petted.

Beagle duo Chatty Charlie and Conker’s blossoming friendship gives families an insight into caring for 7,000 animals a year.

Chatty Charlie’s arrival at Battersea and unique relationship with Conker has been captured in a video which will help spread awareness of the intake and re-homing process at Battersea.

Craig Wilkins, marketing director at Hasbro, commented: “Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is such an iconic institution and its commitment and passion towards the welfare of dogs and cats is so important. It’s fantastic to help Battersea reinforce this message using Chatty Charlie, one of the most exciting new additions to the FurReal family.”

Ali Taylor, head of canine behaviour at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, commented: “At Battersea we care for around 7,000 dogs and cats every year. Each animal is different and it’s so important to find the right homes for them. There’s nothing better than seeing our animals go to loving new homes – it’s the most rewarding part of the job. We’re delighted to be working with Hasbro and Chatty Charlie – this partnership is a great way to educate children and families alike on the importance of rehoming rescue dogs.”
