Hasbro rolls out third annual Global Day of Joy

Published on: 16th December 2015

All of the company’s 5,000 employees engaged in community service projects in 40 different countries to mark this year’s Global Day of Joy.

Rolling out yesterday, the global volunteer day is one of many different initiatives that Hasbro has in place to help children in need experience the joy of play, also empowering kids to share that joy with others.

During this holiday season alone, Hasbro expects to donate more than half a million toys and games, valued at $6m, to organisations benefitting children in need around the world.

Over 160 volunteer projects took place across the world, including toy delivery donations, Game Day events and Operation Playspace projects where local charities had their outdated play areas re-designed into safer, more vibrant play spaces.

Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s chairman, president and CEO, commented: “Our portfolio of beloved brands and passionate team of employees put us in a unique position to make a meaningful difference for children and families in need. We take pride in knowing our efforts make the holidays brighter for millions of children around the world.”
