Hasbro has united its Transformers toys, media partners and storytelling to make a Prime Wars Trilogy.
The Prime Wars Trilogy will play out across multiple mediums and consumer products over the course of a few years, including the entire Transformers Generations toyline, IDW Publishing’s line of comics and digital gaming.
“We decided to initiate the creation of bigger deeper worlds,” commented David Erwin, who heads Hasbro’s Transformers story team. “The fan reaction was really good and that’s when we decided we wanted to make this a trilogy and really make this immersive. When we say immersive, that means to create that experience across all different platforms, to take it across everything that we do.”
The story will feature the biggest Transformers robots, including Sentinel Prime, and the return of robots which can convert into heads for bigger robots.
The comics, Machinima digital series and Activision video games are currently in the middle of a storyline called The Combiner Wars, which will end in time for summer 2016. This will then be followed by a chapter titled Titans Return in autumn. Following Titan’s Return the third and final chapter will be released in late 2017 or early 2018.
