Adam Borton received the accolade at the New York Toy Fair.
The aspiring inventor received the award after pitching a number of inventions to the company since starting his design business two and a half years ago. He has previously worked with the Hasbro, UK and US offices on various freelance projects, as well as working on the recently-released Nerf Nitro line.
“I pitch to all the major toy companies, including Hasbro, Spin Master, Fisher Price, Mattel etc, and I’m concentrating on pushing and developing my toy invention abilities because the speed of development is constantly gaining pace”, Adam told Toy World. “This has led to me buying two 3D printers to aid development speed and idea refinement and making sure I’m up-to-date with the latest 3D software”.
“In terms of the future, I aim to simply keep pitching high-quality inventions that are fun, unique and also hit specific price points – a crucial factor which I gained a lot of experience and knowledge from during my time at Mookie Toys and Little Tikes. I’ve also freelanced for Giochi Preziosi, Jazwares and Character Options – I worked with Character Options on a freelance basis to help design the latest Fireman Sam Electronic Firestation,” he added.
Adam would like to thank the Hasbro GPA team and all of the other companies he meets. He intends to licence more inventions going forward.
