Heather Corbett named Young Marketer of the Year

Heather Corbett, marketing manager UK and Europe for Innovation First International, has been named the UK marketing industry’s top young professional.

Heather was awarded the Young Marketer of the Year Award at the Marketing Society Awards for Excellence, which was celebrated last night at the London Hilton.

As one of three shortlisted candidates, Heather was recognised for her outstanding marketing contributions in the past year on behalf of Innovation First, the only toy brand nominated for this award.

Heather joined the company less than two years ago, when the popular Hexbug brand had a very low profile, and lacked consumer awareness in the UK. Heather’s objective was to change that. Throughout 2011, she implemented a strategic and comprehensive marketing campaign that helped Hexbug become a star of the UK toy industry. By the end of the year, Hexbug had made close to £10 million in retail sales in the UK, and over 1.5 million units of products had been sold, meaning that about 1 in 40 people in Britain now own a Hexbug.

Heather lives in Warrington, Cheshire, with her husband, Chris. She is delighted to receive this award. She said: “It has always been a personal goal of mine to be part of the prestigious Marketing Society Awards. I am over the moon to be recognised as a young leader in my industry amongst other brilliant brand leaders, and look forward to making additional contributions to the UK marketing industry which I am very passionate about.”
