In July 2013, the six surviving LNER Class A4 locomotives were brought together at the National Railway Museum in York to commemorate the 75th anniversary of ‘Mallard’ setting the steam locomotive world speed record.

Hornby’s ‘Great Gathering’ collection was released to celebrate the occasion.  The collection was limited to 510 sets worldwide.

Hornby is offering limited edition set number 002 for auction on eBay with all proceeds going to the Toy Trust, the toy industry’s charity.

The first weekend of the live eBay auction invited a significant amount of activity and interest. The eBay auction ends Sunday 23rd February.
