Hornby has launched a consumer competition to win the screen-used prop.hornbysherlock300

In March 2013, Hornby was asked to supply a track layout and locomotives for a scene in the third series of the BBC’s Sherlock.

Staff from Hornby travelled to the set in Cardiff to set up the track, and the layout can be seen in a scene featuring actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Louise Brealey in the first episode of the new series, entitled ‘The Empty Hearse’, that was broadcast in prime time on BBC One on New Year’s Day 2014.

Hornby is now giving away one of the locomotives used in the series to one winner. More details on how to enter the competition can be found here.
