Richard Ames was set to step into his new role in April. Ames has much experience in the field of consumer-facing businesses, and was managing director of the product division at Ladbrokes, where he ran both the UK and Ireland operations. Prior to his role at Ladbrokes, Ames worked at Dixons as marketing director.
With Ames joining the group, the chairman, Roger Canham, would resume his role as a non-executive. Mr Canham, said: “I am delighted that Richard is joining Hornby. He has a wealth of experience of leading consumer facing businesses. I was impressed with his track record of implementing successful marketing strategies and managing complex supply chains. Finally, I am pleased that he has a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the Hornby business and I am confident that Hornby is in good hands as we move forward.”
