Hornby opens Nuremberg with one company approach

Nuremberg 2016 marked a major development for Hornby as its European trading entities exhibited from one stand, located in Hall 4A.

hornby480The new stand now occupies almost the entire length of the hall and showcases the company’s diverse portfolio including iconic global brands; Scalextric, Airfix, Humbrol, Corgi and Pocher alongside the national railways brands of Hornby, Lima, Jouef, Electrotren and Rivarossi.

The company has historically held two stand locations in Hall 7 and Hall 4A respectively, effectively splitting its brands into railway and non-railway product categories. However, as part of an overarching company directive to bring all divisions under the Hornby Hobbies brand together, visitors to the show will now find all products being showcased in the same location. This new directive is part of a companywide restructure and reorganisation which included a new IT system, a consolidated European warehouse and a reshuffle of personnel, enabling the company to move to a group operating business model.

Nathaniel Southworth, group sales director, commented: “It’s fantastic to be united on one stand in Nuremberg, and for us to welcome our customers to see our full company offering within Hall 4A. We are showcasing our products in an environment to be proud of and we’re entering 2016 optimistic and focused on improving our business globally.”
