NPD data for October has shown that Hornby Hobbies’ sales are up 19% from October 2014.
The growth was driven by strong Scalextric, Airfix, Hornby and Corgi sales.
Hornby Hobbies is closing in on its aim of being a top 20 toy company ranked by NPD at the end of the calendar year. The beginning of the seasonal peak has seen the company move in the industry rankings from 31st to 23rd, with the company currently on track to meet this goal following this critical seasonal buying period.
Success has been driven by new range introductions across all brands, but Scalextric has taken centre stage with the Spectre movie launch supported by a cinema campaign and boosted by the company’s developing social media capability.
