Hornby set to launch War Horse toy

Published on: 24th January 2012

Hornby’s recent distribution deal with Breyer Model Horses will see it selling models of Joey the lead horse featured in the best-selling book by Michael Morpurgo and the recent Spielberg movie, War Horse.

New War Horse models will be on show during London Toy Fair with Joey reproduced in detail and in two scales: the Classic Series range is 1:12 scale with an SRP of £39.99 and the Traditional Series range is 1:9 scale with an SRP of £49.99.

Each scale of horse is hand-decorated and packed alongside a copy of the original novel.

Nat Southworth, sales and marketing director for Hornby commented: “We’ve been delighted with the trade response to Hornby distributing the Breyer range, and this licence offers an incredible platform to get the message about Breyer model horses to a much wider consumer audience. The two initial items are fantastic collectables. All customers, trade or consumer, need to get their orders in quick as our 1:9 scale Traditional Series “Joey” is a limited edition of 3,500 worldwide and we’ve only got 500 for the UK and Eire.”
