Hornby sign worldwide licence with Grandpa in my Pocket show

Published on: 18th July 2012

Hornby Hobbies has signed a worldwide licence with Adastra Creative, the entertainment company behind the CBeebies pre-school TV show Grandpa in my Pocket.

Under the newly launched Corgi Toys sub brand, Hornby will produce an extensive range of Grandpa in my Pocket toys including plastic vehicles and figurines, play-sets and Diecast vehicles. Products will hit retailers’ shelves Autumn/Winter 2013.

Nat Southworth, sales and marketing director for Hornby, said: “Grandpa in my Pocket is a fantastic programme and we are delighted to be producing the toys.  The show has such a positive message, and brand fit with us. There is also the ‘shrinking cap’ allowing Grandpa to enjoy toys as well. It’s perfect for the Hornby family of brands.”

Mellie Buse, of Adastra Creative, added: “Fans have been asking for these toys for a long while so we’re extremely excited about Hornby’s plans. It’s great timing because it ties in with the tour of the first Grandpa Stage Show, currently at The Nottingham Playhouse and due to travel the country next year.”
