The development comes as part of a diversification strategy to make Kitoons a 360° entertainment experience with new audio offerings.
Kids can soon enjoy a whole new way to engage with material from IMC Toys’ entertainment property, Kitoons, as the brand expands into audio content. The move means fans are now able to join the popular Cry Babies Magic Tears characters on their adventures through a series of songs and audiobooks.
Cry Babies Magic Tears are cute babies with big personalities, that live in an imaginative world where tears are magical and carry special powers used to overcome challenging situations. The series, which is designed for children aged three to six, uses the challenges in each episode to instil positive values in an interesting and engaging way.
The audio content has begun to roll out in six different languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese (BR). The new content development will enable kids to sing along to their favourite Kitoons songs from anywhere, or listen along to their favourite stories as a narrator provides descriptive audio. Listeners can choose from 13 audiobook ‘albums’, each of which corresponds to a specific Cry Babies Magic Tears theme and includes multiple episodes. The songs are divided into four albums, one for each season that has aired, and feature a variety of tracks.
The content will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide including Spotify, Audible, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Tidal and more.
“For years now, kids have been enjoying Cry Babies Magic Tears content through the Kitoons YouTube channel and it is such a joy to make the episodes and songs even more accessible,” said Raquel Roca, corporate communications director, IMC Toys. “Being available across so many platforms truly opens up the world of Cry Babies Magic Tears for even more to enjoy.”
The audio offerings are just the latest step in the expansion of Kitoons, which includes content on both the IMC Toys’ owned Kitoons YouTube channel and Netflix. Partners Bookwire, Muit Books and the Universal Music Group are helping create the new entertainment experience.
