Independent Toy & Gift Show to move to new May slot in 2018

10 year anniversary of plaY-room sees new logo and new show date.

Toy World can exclusively reveal that next year’s Toy & Gift Show will move from its traditional April slot to the new dates of 1st and 2nd May. Head of toys and childrens’ gifts Miles Penhallow told Toy World: “By holding the show, which is open to all independents, slightly later than in previous years, plaY-room is hoping to boost attendance and make it logistically easier for exhibitors to obtain samples of new products. Having successfully incorporated a show theme over the last few years, the theme of the 2018 show will be plush. ”

PlaY-room launched in 2008 and to mark the company’s ten year anniversary, the Independent Toy & Gift Show logo has been refreshed. But it is unquestionably the change of date which will be the major talking point in the toy community over the coming weeks.

With Easter 2018 falling on the dates on which the show was held in 2017, and the Furniture show taking place on the dates it occupied in 2016, it gives plaY-room the opportunity to adopt a fresh approach next year.
