ITVS GE announces experiential Thunderbirds deals

Published on: 19th April 2018

Experiential and direct-to-consumer category deals announced for Thunderbirds Are Go.

The series, with its new third season currently airing on CITV/ITV, lends itself well to the experiential category. The range of settings in Thunderbirds Are Go – outer space, underwater, and on land anywhere in the world – allows for varied possibilities in the experiential world for scenery, storylines and special effects.

Paragon Creative, one of the world’s leading design development and build companies, will develop themed attractions and experiences for Thunderbirds Are Go. Examples of Paragon’s work include a Wallace & Gromit ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the Titanic Experience in Belfast, and the Coronation Street Tour. Initial concepts for the Thunderbirds Are Go experiential attraction will put guests at the heart of the experience.

Immersive Rides creates Revolutionary Ride Systems for the attraction and entertainment sectors, and a Dark Ride System has been developed for a Thunderbirds Are Go attraction. The concept is built around a customisable ride, in which there are seven options to choose from, each including a particular Thunderbird vehicle. Ride guests will enjoy an immersive pre-ride show, then select their own Thunderbird character and vehicle in order to start their personal mission. The Dark Ride will use the latest technology in interactive mapping screens to provide guests with an experience personally chosen by them.

Trudi Hayward, SVP global head of merchandise at ITVS GE, says: “Direct-to-Consumer is a key component of ITVS GE’s strategy and we are very excited to welcome on board two important players in this category. Thunderbirds Are Go lends itself perfectly to experiential family activities and we look forward to seeing these in action.
