Assistant Brand Manager

The Company

TOMY Europe is a Children’s Toy Manufacturer based in the UK, France and Germany and supplies toys and game products to national and specialised retailers across Europe, Middle East and parts of Asia.

TOMY currently has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Brand Manager to join our Central Marketing Team. Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, you will support on the development of European brand strategy, supporting brand plan delivery and achieving budgeted sales and profit targets in line with business strategy, targets and company budgets. You will work with the Marketing and Sales teams to co-ordinate the preparation and provision of sales tools for new product launches. You will also assist in compiling findings from competitive reviews and sales performance data for the provision of business reviews.

The Role

  • Support the Senior Brand Manager in developing the annual marketing plan for specific brands from portfolio including asset creation
  • Be brand custodian and the ‘voice’ of agreed brands internally and externally
  • Assist with relevant brand management duties, including organisation of listings and availability, pricing exercises, promotional and distribution trackers and preparation of licensor quarterly business reviews as required
  • Monitor brand performance including listings, NPD, rate of sale, media, in store activation, and identify and deliver corrective action with the support of your line manager
  • To be aware and own communication on any critical path and product information changes and to share this with the European Sales and Marketing teams
  • Deliver appropriate marketing communications duties, including media planning, PR activities and social media content development and execution for relevant brands
  • Preparation of competitor/market reviews in response to business/product opportunities as and when they arise
  • Be the guardian for mock ups and models for new products. Track product models during preview months and organise packaging mock-ups and product samples to be sent to customers as needed
  • Opportunity to be given specific product projects in order to develop marketing skills
  • Opportunity to shadow members of the team at key meetings in order to develop marketing acumen
  • Question the norms of what we have done previously, seeking new and innovative ways to solve today’s challenges and create new opportunities

The Person

  • Educated to degree level or recognised equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in marketing
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Highly proactive
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Hours, Location & Salary

This is a full-time (37.5 hours) position based at our Brooklands office in Weybridge, Surrey. A salary of £25,000 – £28,000 depending on experience.
