The Role

With the continual growth of original IP, and licensed brands from key partners like Bandai, Capcom, SEGA and Microsoft, we need to increase the number of brand managers we have in the team. The partnership marketing has with all other key stakeholders needs to be built on trust, constant communication and aligned objectives.

Job Description

The Brand Manager will report to the Marketing Operations Manager. They will create, plan and implement consumer strategies in line with the key business objectives that resonate with the audience (whilst maintaining brand integrity) on time and on budget, driving sales and increasing brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities (for brands that sit under you)

  • Collaborate on, formalise and implement an ‘SFG standard’ launch template covering all key activity and timelines that can be used for all future product releases
  • Play a major role in the development of the annual brand plans and trading revenue budget to ensure marketing and financial expectations/goals are aligned
  • Ownership of resource planning and allocation through collaborating with the marketing team to deliver tasks on time, on brief on plan, through Monday.com.
  • Be a brand guardian, developing and maintaining brand guidelines to ensure communication, assets, and content are on brand
  • Supervising creation of marketing materials alongside Trade Marketing lead and Content Manager to establish and maintain consistent content/messaging across all channels
  • Responsible for the management and execution of the product (trade and consumer) activity calendar for new and existing lines. Review and update on a regular basis
  • Build and own internal and external facing statements of work documentation, with input from the senior marketing team for final sign-off by the Commercial Director
  • Provide post-analysis report and insight on individual marketing campaigns measuring against agreed forecast and KPIs, both qualitive and quantitively
  • Considerable input in forecasting and building the consumer marketing budget
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of spend by brand and activity against the consumer marketing budget and making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Responsible for delivery of the marketing and campaign copy working with in-house/ 3rd party copywriter(s)
  • Develop, execute and analyse consumer research to ensure all consumer marketing activity is insightful, relevant, and engaging to retain and attract new consumers. Feed into NPD where appropriate
  • Facilitation and coordination of both market and competitor product analyses to ensure the company’s marketing strategy is competing effectively and report back accordingly
  • Staying up to date on digital and marketing-focused consumer engagement trends and best practices
  • The marketing contact for Licensor counterpart(s), working alongside Licensing Manager and PMs to make certain deadlines are met, licensors are supporting our lines, and we are aware of their key marketing beats to maximise all opportunities
  • Maintain contact with colleagues across other departments to ensure a strategic overview of the business and future market opportunities
  • Positive and visible role in supporting company culture
  • The consumer voice for the brand

Hours, Location & Salary

The job is a full-time role and will be home-based with occasional travel to the office in Manchester. Salary is competitive.
