Florian Hess took up the post vacated by Katharina Janotta on 1st February, who is leaving Spielwarenmesse eG to assume new challenges abroad.

Florian-Hess-480As the new director of fair management, Florian will be responsible for 11 team members who organise all national and international events and who support fair exhibitors.

Florian was previously engaged in the consumer, capital goods and telco sectors. His track record includes more than 20 years’ experience in trade fairs and expos. He and his team have cooperated with Spielwarenmesse eG since 2002 to provide electronic visitor registration and online ticketing.

In his new role, Florian will continue to focus on customer centricity, commenting: “Along with my team I aim to forge ahead with fair projects, introduce new services and practical technologies so that our exhibitors can forget about fair organisation matters and concentrate on their goals.”

Katharina Janotta has spearheaded development at Spielwarenmesse since 2008. She contributed greatly to the company’s internationalisation in key growth markets, managing the international fair programme World of Toys and Kids India. She and her team also successfully staged the premier of Insights-X, the new stationery and office supplies expo, thus prompting Spielwarenmesse eG’s access to new consumer goods segments.

Ernst Kick, chief executive officer at Spielwarenmesse eG, commented: “I’d like to thank Katharina Janotta for the many projects she has set up on behalf of Spielwarenmesse eG. In doing so, she has improved the quality of our events. I wish her all the best for her future career. Having worked alongside Mr Hess for a long time, I am already familiar with his energy, service focus and precision with which he implements projects. I welcome the fact that he will now be investing these qualities in Spielwarenmesse eG to continue the excellent work of his predecessor.”
