VTech’s Kidizoom Smart Watch DX2 honoured with international KAPi Award

Published on: 22nd January 2018

The Kidizoom Smart Watch DX2 was selected from more than 500 children’s technology products, by an independent jury of industry and editorial experts.

The judges looked for products that raised the bar for innovation and design excellence.

The judges agreed that VTech’s Kidizoom Smart Watch DX2 beats the competition in the children’s wearable category and is an ideal first watch for any child. The award was presented at a ceremony at The Consumer Electronics Show 2018.

Being launched in the UK at London Toy Fair, the watch is the successor of the popular original Smart Watch DX. Featuring a new sleek and stylish design, the DX2 has a new second camera located on the face of the watch. This, paired with the existing side camera, allows the wearer to capture everything from action videos to selfies, which can then be customised with cool frames and effects.

With built-in and customisable digital and analogue watch faces and a Time Master app, the watch is educational as well as fun. There are new innovative games such as Monster Detector, an augmented reality adventure that encourages children to explore, find, and catalogue hidden monsters in the real world. Children can also use the watch’s motion sensor for active play challenges, or to track their activities and movements, which keeps them on the go.

Suzie Mills, senior brand manager at VTech UK, commented: “We are very excited to showcase the new Kidizoom Smart Watch DX2 at Toy Fair, so retailers don’t need to travel all the way to Las Vegas to see it. Come and see us at Gallery 500 to see this award winning product and all the other exciting new additions to our ranges this year.”
