K’Nex to sponsor the Cubs

Published on: 11th April 2014

K’Nex has announced an agreement with the Scout Association to sponsor the Cub Scout Creative Challenge Badge.

The partnership will see thousands of Cub Scouts taking part in K’Nex building challenges with the help of an online resource as well as getting hands on at their annual ‘Funday’ at the organisation’s Gilwell Park headquarters.

As part of the initiative the K’Nex team has devised a number of fun challenges that will enable Cub Scouts to earn their badge. On successfully completing a selection of these, Cubs will receive a badge with K’Nex logo. With around 150,000 Cubs Scouts in the UK, the partnership offers many opportunities to showcase the possibilities of scale and movement delivered by K’Nex building sets.

Alison Hubbard, K’Nex UK’s head of marketing, explains: “With so many children in our target market involved with the Cubs, the organisation is the perfect partner for us. This initiative enables us to provide exciting ways for them to discover the unique qualities of K’Nex. Our marketing programme challenges building fans to think about their next big build and this sponsorship will see us quite literally building bridges with our core audience.”

To maximise the partnership and encourage two-way communication with patrol leaders, the company will offer sampling, exclusive competitions and regional PR initiatives.
