Published on: 11th September 2013

Friday 13th September is the deadline for entries into BLE’s License This! challenge 2013.BLE2013-300

BLE’s acclaimed License This! challenge is now in its fourth year. It offers brand new creative concepts the chance to break into the global licensing industry. It is open to any new property with roots in publishing, art and design, television or digital media and which has no merchandising deals already in place or pending.

The judges choose a shortlist of four properties which are pitched, live, to the panel at BLE on Thursday 17th October. The winner gets a fully furnished stand at BLE 2014 in order to bring their property back to market. The judging panel is chaired this year by David Riley, managing director of Egmont Publishing Group. He will be joined by Darran Garnham, chief business development officer at Mind Candy; Aysha Kidwai, managing director of Indigo Lens and Bettina Koeckler, SVP EMEA at Fox Consumer Products.

Past winners and finalists will be exhibiting on the show floor again this year, having developed their brands since participating in License This! Winner Sarah Watts, of Two Little Boys, said: “Winning the competition opened many doors for us. I would urge anyone with a new concept to enter the competition and see what it can do for you.”

Property creators/owners can submit their property now to be part of License This! by completing the entry form, found at www.brandlicensing.eu. Deadline for entries is 13th September 2013. Brand Licensing Europe 2013 takes place from 15–17 October 2013 at London’s Olympia.

Registration is now open at www.brandlicensing.eu. Follow the show on Twitter for the latest show news and updates @bleurope.
