LeapFrog has announced a new milestone launch for the brand; a new and original game franchise ‘Adventure Sketchers’ to add to its games’ portfolio, a fantasy game that sees children design an original character and play in a customisable quest where they are in full control.
The LeapFrog-owned property will sit alongside other licensed titles in the brand’s content library, including Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
Chris Spalding, SVP and MD EMEA at LeapFrog, said: “Supported by a heavyweight TV and online advertising campaign, as well as a robust PR and social media programme, Adventure Sketchers will without a doubt be a hero product for us in 2014.”
As well as putting children’s art and design skills to the test, this learning game also encourages children between five and eight years old to build their storytelling skills. Children can record voiceovers and sound effects for their personalised adventure as well as add to the narrative by drawing items such as animals or vehicles that could help their heroes on their quests.
LeapFrog’s team of learning experts developed each game to match a key educational area.
Spalding added: “We know that every child is different, learning at their own pace and in their own style so we strive to continuously offer personalised learning solutions that capture a child’s imagination as well as inspire and encourage them every step of the way. Adventure Sketchers lets children put their own stamp on their individual learning journey – they feel in control and can express themselves creatively whilst they play and learn with this action-packed new game.
“This is an incredibly exciting start to 2014 for us and really sets the pace for what we believe will be a ground breaking new year for LeapFrog in terms of both innovative software and exciting new hardware launches. Watch this space.”
Adventure Sketchers is available as a cartridge game or a downloadable app, and works with all LeapPad learning tablets and LeapsterGS devices.
