Twelve-year-old Matthew O’Connell walked away with over £1000 worth of Lego sets after winning a ‘Supermarket Sweep’ style trolley dash at his local Smyths Toys Superstore in Salisbury.
Matthew was given thirty seconds to help himself to the entire Lego aisle of the store, emptying as many shelves as he could in the time with his favourite Super Heroes and Star Wars sets.
Matthew from Warminster, won the dream trolley dash by completing a special Lego DC Super Heroes game on the Cartoon Network website, where he had to collect all the clues to help Batman find the missing jewels.
Matthew’s Mum, Yvonne O’Connell said: “This prize means a huge amount to Matthew. He’s been a big Lego fan since the age of six when he first joined The Lego Club. I don’t think we’ll have any problem keeping him occupied over the school holidays now.”
Chris Webster, manager of Smyths Toys Superstore in Salisbury, said “Matthew’s trolley dash has created an enormous amount of excitement in our store. We had so much fun hosting Matthew and we hope he enjoys all his new Lego sets”
