Lego UK announces new general manager

Lego UK has announced that Fiona Wright will take up the role of UK and Ireland general manager.

Effective from 1st January 2013, Fiona will be responsible for the total sales function in the territory. Current general manger, Drew Brazer, is leaving to resume his original role as VP of sales for Lego in North America.

Fiona has worked for the toy firm since 2000 where she joined as a brand director for Europe North. Developing strong sales and marketing experience saw advancement to national account director, marketing director and most recently, head of sales. Prior to joining the Lego Group, Fiona worked for The Walt Disney Company, Hasbro and Kellogg Company.

Wright said: “The past 12 years have seen Lego UK market share grow from 2.5% to 9.0% with the business now five times the size (Source NPD CS Panel 2000 to year to date September 2012). We are focused on driving forward the business to deliver another double-digit growth year in 2013.

“Our continued efforts to strengthen succession planning, drive activity based on consumer insight, innovate and adapt, offer unique licensed product and create prosperous internal properties will be at the forefront of strategic direction for the company, while still focusing on our core product – the much-loved Lego brick.”
