The new series will guarantee the brand’s onscreen presence with new content on both CBeebies UK and CBeebies international channels until at least 2018.
Chris White, executive producer and Karrot Entertainment co-founder, said: “We’re delighted to be making further adventures with Sarah and Duck. During the first two series we established an expanding collection of characters and are thrilled that we’ll be able to continue our relationship with them for 40 fresh episodes.”
A third DVD of adventures, Balloon Race, was released earlier this year and the brand’s first App, Sarah and Duck – A Day at the Park, went to the top of the Kids iTunes charts.
BBC Worldwide has also secured a continued licensing and merchandising agreement in the UK for Sarah and Duck from Karrot Entertainment. There is also a merchandise line featuring plush toys from Posh Paws, Following the early success of the first three picture books, two more books from Puffin along with a Christmas-themed DVD will be released later this year.
A second CBeebies Special Magazine from Immediate Media is also planned as well as a planner from Carousel Calendars. For summer 2015, Legends Wall Art will launch wall art and Dreamtex will have a range of bedding going into retail for this autumn.
