Character Options hails Pokémon master toy launch a success

Published on: 25th July 2018

Character Options officially launched its new Pokémon collection at a gallery style event in London’s West End last week.

The event attracted a large crowd including some of the brand’s top fans, keen to see what’s new this autumn.

The Pokémon toy launch took place on the afternoon of Thursday 19th July at the White Space near Leicester Square. Attracting over 80 guests, from bloggers to national media, the stylish minimalist displays housed the entire launch collection.

A special visit from Pikachu proved to be a highlight of the event, and the subject of many social media posts on the day. True followers of all things Pokémon, fans used the occasion for a buoyant online chat with legions of followers including live unboxings, boomerangs and Facebook Live posts.

Sophie Beard, brand manager for Pokémon at Character Options, commented: “We wanted to create a low key, open-house style event for a wide range of guests and we are delighted with the turnout. We are very proud of this launch collection and everyone seemed to be as excited about it as we are. Now with the launch upon us, our full marketing drive will begin in earnest, starting with a full TV schedule that begins at the very start of August.”

The new Pokémon toy collection goes on sale this week, and is the first range created by Wicked Cool Toys and distributed in the UK by Character Options. Plush toys, Figures in many scales, and role play are all amongst the 13 SKUs that fans and retail have been waiting for.
