Teaser trailer for Warner Bros’ Scoob! movie unveiled

Published on: 12th November 2019

The first look at the upcoming movie reveals how Shaggy and Scooby-Doo first met and how Scooby-Doo got his name.

The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen promises stories of Scooby-Doo’s origins, how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc. The synopsis reads “Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world.  As they race to stop this global “dogpocalypse,” the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined.”

In Scoob!, Scooby-Doo (Frank Welker) will be joined by the four original members of Mystery Inc., including Shaggy (Will Forte), Fred (Zac Efron), Velma (Gina Rodriguez) and Daphne (Amanda Seyfried). The 3D computer-animated movie is scheduled for release in May 2020.

Rachel Wakley, general manager, Warner Bros, told to Toy World: “The new Scooby movie is going to be an adventure; the first fully CG animated Scooby-Doo theatrical release. Featuring an iconic cast, the film takes audiences to the four corners of the globe on an epic adventure that taps into the core DNA of the Scooby-Doo franchise, while leveraging a whole new environment and cast of characters. Retailers can maximise this opportunity by working with our key partners and ranging the new, exciting products coming through. The property has great traction with both boys and girls and is a firm family favourite.”

Fans can engage with Scooby across all major product categories, as new Scoob! product will be launched through Character Options, bringing the key characters and movie moments to life. This will be joined by a brand-new Scooby-Doo range from Playmobil, as well as lines from Hunter Price featuring product across outdoor toys, art & craft and pocket money ranges.
