DRi’s Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand Kimmidoll is making its mark in the UK.
Created by Australian giftware company, The Aird Group, the Kimmidoll is a contemporary collectable doll which combines traditional Japanese customs with modern creative sensibility. Accompanying each new collectable doll line is a gift range featuring stylish artwork. There are three distinct strands to the brand: Kimmidoll Collection, Kimmidoll Junior and Kimmidoll Love.
Over eight million Kimmidoll Collection products have been sold to date in over 60 countries since its launch on 2008, and are now widely licensed internationally by The Aird Group’s network of agents. Kimmidoll Junior was launched in 2009; it has reached children in over 45 countries, been translated into 11 different languages and the website www.kimmidolljunior.com has received over 40 million hits. Kimmidoll Love launched in 2012.
Following Kimmidoll’s international success. DRi has partnered with Enesco to bring a collectables and gifting range to market on Kimmidoll Collection and Kimmidoll Junior, with Kimmidoll Love following in Autumn/Winter 2013. With presence in the independent market already, there are conversations underway for listings with major high street retailers.
The brand is securing on-shelf presence for the core gift lines with new products coming through this year including tin giftware from Elite Gift Boxes, greeting cards from UK Greetings and wallpaper, wallgraphics and canvas murals from Mantiburi. Later this year Portico Designs will unveil their new calendar.
Kimmidoll will continue to increase its presence in the UK market in the coming months with further licences in discussion for stationery and bags as well as brand new publishing, toiletries and apparel.
