Little Tikes builds on success of Tobi range

Published on: 11th February 2021

2021 will see Little Tikes build on the reputation of the award winning Tobi brand with a TV campaign and extension of the line.

Tech is now a huge area of development for the Little Tikes brand. 2020 saw the arrival Tobi Robot Smartwatch, a brand-new revolutionary smartwatch for kids. The successful launch received blanket press coverage and quickly scooped a Dad’s Choice and Loved by Parents Award, putting Little Tikes on the map as trailblazers in the kids’ tech arena.

Hitting television screens in February, the Tobi Robot Smartwatch aims to repeat this success from 2020 and prove itself to be one of 2021’s must-have toys. With 100+ facial expressions, fun sound effects, and moving arms and legs, kids can easily engage with the watch’s many features. Its two cameras can store 3,000 photos or 30 minutes of video, and the watch includes a range of interactive games designed to nurture important aspects of health and education. With a built-in pedometer, children can begin to understand the importance of being active and be encouraged by the emotive robot and its energetic games. They can dance, take selfies, pair their watch with others and even dive into augmented reality, exploring new and exciting worlds.

Spring will see the Tobi range extended with the launch of Tobi Friends: Chatter and Beeper, a duo of interactive electronic voice-activated toys. Suitable for kids aged four and above, Tobi Friends are ideal for both solo and group play, and help to ignite creativity and role play. Chatter and Beeper react to voices and sounds by lighting up and moving and offer three different ways to play by responding to kids, other Tobi Friends, and even Tobi Robot Smartwatch; when the watch is nearby, they will respond to Tobi’s expressions, emojis, alarms and more. Tobi Friends have a playful, interactive personality and converse in their own special language, offering a fun and creative play experience.

Michelle Lilley, head of marketing UK for Little Tikes said: “Tobi Friends is one of many new launches this year and we’re thrilled to start with Chatter and Beeper. Tech is a huge area of development for the brand and we’re excited to be making our mark in this sector. The launch will be supported with a heavyweight PR and social campaign along with TV, and we’re expecting it to be a huge hit.”

Whilst traditional play remains at the heart of the brand, there is a growing focus on encouraging learning through interactive toys, with tech as a key component in child development. Little Tikes will be announcing the launch of a number of new products across the spring season.
