Children to play a permanent role in inspiration of Lottie products through monthly design competitions.
The company invites independent retailers to engage in the new Inspired by Real Kids monthly competitions in-store, which will roll out September 2017. The competitions will empower children to create what they want to see, be, and play with.
Lottie aims to empower kids to be themselves – the Inspired by Real Kids campaign (check out the video series, here) celebrates the remarkable real girls that have inspired Lottie Dolls, and aims to encourage children all over the world to get involved with the company.
Each month, the company will launch a themed design competition both online and in store. Participating stores will receive a pack with design templates, posters and a product prize to give to a winning customer entry of their choice. The overall monthly winners will have their design made by the company, and, within nine months of selecting a winner, Lottie Dolls will have the product on the market. In lieu of any compensation to overall design winners, 10% of the net profits from products developed through the Lottie Inspired by Real Kids competitions will be donated to charity.
Ian Harkin, MD Lottie Dolls, commented: “Since launching our first product that was inspired by a real child four years ago we’ve been blown away by how perceptive, imaginative and assertive children are today – they are incredible. The girls who have inspired Lottie dolls empower and support one another and their peers, and it’s been inspiring following their adventures and achievements. This sparked our commitment to having all products inspired by real kids. 2017 is working out to be a very exciting year for us, for the first time we now have a full range with playsets, dolls, buildings, outfits and books to cover all buying scenarios from birthdays to gifts and Christmas day.”
