Magformers appoints new managing director

The company has appointed David Kelly as its new UK managing director.

Dave-Kelly-480David joined the company at the beginning of November, after meeting Magformers’ Korean owners in Seoul, and will oversee all operations for the UK subsidiary.

Prior to joining Magformers, he had been responsible for creating the UK market for Depesche brands including TopModel and My Style Princess, turning them into some of the UK’s leading girls’ creative ranges.

After leaving Depesche, David helped establish Engino Toy Systems in the construction category, opening over 90 key accounts in less than 12 months.

David commented: “I’m delighted and excited to be joining Magformers at a key stage in the company’s ambitious expansion plans. Magformers has already gained an incredible foothold in the construction toy categories in Korea, the US and Russia and when I met the owners I was hugely impressed by their drive and commitment to expand into the UK. Magformers is fun, educational, safe and engaging. We will be expanding our sales team as a priority, to maximise what I feel is a fantastic opportunity for retailers to build a strong and safe successful magnetic construction category within their stores.”
