Magical Crystal Ball joins Moose Toys Magic Mixies range

The interactive fortune telling Crystal Ball is the latest reveal in the expanding world of Magic Mixes and is tipped to be a hit this Q4. 

Moose Toys has revealed that the Magic Mixies Magical Crystal Ball will be available globally for pre-sale at major retailers from 1st September and in-store on 1st October. Following in the footsteps of last year’s Magic Mixies Magic Cauldron, Moose predicts this much anticipated expansion of the Magic Mixies lineup will enjoy similar success this holiday season. Prior to launch, Magic Mixies Crystal Ball has already received early toy industry buzz with a 2022 Creative Toy of the Year nomination in the US, from The Toy Foundation.

The Magical Crystal Ball and its interactive, spellcasting wand gives kids the power to wield magic as they create a Magic Mixie. From the moment kids pick up the wand, it reacts with the Crystal Ball instantaneously. A wave of the wand beckons the signature Magic Mixies mist to fill the Crystal Ball and begins the magical process of creating a Mixie, giving it a voice, colour, fortune telling powers and more. Kids then reveal more magic by mastering different wand movements, for example to make the Mixie’s voice higher or lower. With the magic words “Magicus Mixus,” the mist disappears to reveal an adorable plush Magic Mixie inside the Crystal Ball.

The Mixie has four modes of play, including Fortune Telling mode, where kids ask the Mixie a question and its forehead gems flash until only one colour is lit – green for yes, red for no, and yellow if the Mixie is unsure – while in Spell and Game mode, the Mixie’s gems interacts with the wand. The Crystal Ball, spellcasting wand and Magic Mixie combined feature more than 80 sounds and reactions.

The UK will see a market-wide retail roll out. In the US, launches will take place at Camp locations in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

If I were a fortune-telling Mixie, my prediction would be that, once again, Magic Mixies will top holiday wish lists for kids everywhere.”

Kids can repeat the creation process with the wand and mist to make the Magic Mixie, or other similar sized items, disappear and reappear within the Crystal Ball. At the end of the day, the Crystal Ball can be switched to night light mode with the option to change the colour of the night light and an automatic switch off after half an hour.

A Magical Mist Refill Pack is also available, which includes more than 80 misting reveals.

Kids can also go from apprentice to mastering all the magic the wand has to offer with a mini “wand school” how-to video, accessed via a QR Code on the product packaging and the two included spell books.

The toy will be supported by a full marketing program, including a Snapchat Lens and TikTok Community Effect that transforms the Mixie into a plush version complete with giant eyes, ears and forehead gems. The interactive experience encourages users to think of a question and wave the wand for an answer. Rounding out the marketing programme is a YouTube content series, in-store displays and influencer content.
