Edward Catchpole has joined Mattel

Global toy manufacture Mattel has hired Edward Catchpole to the role of Senior Vice President for HIT Brands.

Catchpole will be leading the UK office with geographical responsibility for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Japan. Reporting to Fisher-Price’s executive vice president David Allmark, Catchpole will manage marketing strategy for the global HIT Brands.

Allmark commented: “Edward comes to us with a wealth of experience and skills including leadership management and brand and intellectual property management.  This appointment clearly demonstrates Mattel’s commitment to own, develop and grow world-class brands. I am very excited about the prospects ahead for the collective Fisher-Price and HIT Entertainment brand portfolio.”

Catchpole was formally SVP Europe and Emerging Markets for Disney Consumer Products. The HIT portfolio includes premier pre-school properties such as Thomas & Friends, Barney, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Angelina Ballerina.
