Mattel introduces new Disney Pixar Cars 3 toy range

Launch of new movie supported with host of new products including diecast and playsets.

The Disney Pixar’s Cars 3 movie release sees Lightning McQueen back in the game after he finds himself pushed out of the sport he loves. Mattel brings the action to life with the new Disney Pixar Cars 3 Movie Moves Lightning McQueen car. Inspired by the film, the vehicle reacts to motion and goes forward, backward, left, right, and upside down, plus says over 65 sounds and phrases. Lightning’s design includes working headlights and taillights, and eyes that move like they do on screen. New characters such as Cruz Ramirez are also brought to life in the new toy range. The new racer responds to motion, and says key phrases from the film like Boop, and You’re my hero, McQueen.

A new playset expands the storytelling possibilities with the Disney Pixar Cars 3 Willy’s Butte Transforming Track Set. This set tests driving skills and transforms for three ways to play. Kids can launch cars to see them speed up the ramp and over the jump, and the track can be transformed for more loop stunt action increased challenge. The set features accessories as seen in the new movie and movie favourite champion vehicle, Lightning McQueen.

Wendy Hill, brand activation director, Mattel UK commented: “The Mattel range captures the iconic characters and scenes from the movie that will kids will love. We are geared up for a big summer, with an extensive product range offering some fantastic Cars 3 inspired toys to keep momentum racing through autumn/winter 17.”

The range is supported with a programme of activations including exclusive sponsorship of the official Disney Cars website, six 2017 TV campaigns, plus PR and digital that sees Mattel working in collaboration with Disney.
