May Fair flies the flag for Monopoly

Published on: 26th September 2012

The May Fair Hotel is ‘paying back’ Monopoly for over 60 years of free publicity on the famous board.

For the first time in its history, the hotel will hoist flags not associated with the building. Monopoly flags will fly from its frontage to herald the launch of a new game on October 4, 2012. The pennants are black with a diamond emblazoned. Monopoly Millionaire will be launched in the Penthouse of the hotel.

The new game, which goes on sale for Christmas, swaps Mayfair for Paradise Island, Park Lane for Fortune Valley and Bond Street for Diamond Hills. Players can choose from boats, planes, power bikes and super cars to move around instead of the traditional dog, boot and top hat.

In an ultimate tribute, the hotel will accept Monopoly Money for drinks in the bar*.
