The four-week burst, starting today, will play out across the full network of kids channels, and will focus on boys channels including Cartoon Network, Disney XD, Nicktoons and CITV. In total, over 60% of boys aged 6-11 will see the advert an average of seven times in this key purchasing period.
Four separate advertisements have been created. Three 10-second adverts feature each of the King Raven, Centaur Tank and Armadillo APC, whilst a 30-second advertisement brings all three models together in a powerful battle scene. All advertisements can also be viewed on Meccano’s Youtube channel.
Sue Barratt, UK country manager for Meccano Toys, said: “We’re back on TV and back with a vengeance with our new Gears of War licensed models. It is a really strong range and has received really positive reviews in the press and from retailers. We’re convinced that these iconic model military vehicles – the Armadillo armoured personnel carrier, Centaur tank and King Raven helicopter – will really capture the imagination. Models come with poseable figures and weapons to recreate battles between the evil Locusts and heroes of Delta Squad. But what we think will really attract new Meccano fans is the fact that models are more realistic and full of features, like rotating turrets, spinning rotor blades and pneumatic all terrain tyres.”
