Meccano’s Meccanoid gets a royal greeting

Published on: 18th October 2016

The Duchess of Cambridge was introduced to the Meccanoid as part of her first solo royal engagement abroad.

meccanoid480The meeting was part of the Duchess’s visit to The Bouwkeet workshop in Rotterdam, a local community initiative providing a creative design and technology workspace in an economically deprived district of the city.

The centre works with local schools to bring young people in the area into workshops, where they learn to design, create and build their own projects.

Speaking about the news, Ranjit Dhutti, UK brand manager for Meccano, said: “It was a lovely surprise to see the Duchess enjoying her introduction with Meccanoid all over the news – and perhaps it’s something that she’ll consider getting for Prince George and Princess Charlotte to play with, in a few years to come.”
