Morrisons is axing up to 720 jobs at its head office and employing 5,000 staff for its stores in the latest shift under new chief executive David Potts.

It is said that all staff being made redundant will be offered a role in a Morrisons store or redeployed in other parts of the business.

Five senior managers were let go last month, less than two weeks after David Potts took the helm. David Potts took over from Dalton Philips, who left his post in January following a disappointing Christmas.
