Moshi makes a splash over Bank Holiday weekend

Published on: 30th August 2012

As parents across the UK braved the Bank Holiday rain on the high street this weekend, the item top of every kids wish list was the new series of Moshi Monsters.

The Entertainer was at the heart of Moshi Mania as it opened its doors early to give parents and children an exclusive first look at the newly-launched Series 4 Collectable Moshlings range.

Readers of Toy World’s website will have seen the new characters of Series 4 being revealed day by day, until the weekend’s big launch to consumers.

Stuart Grant, buying director at The Entertainer, was overwhelmed by the response. He said: “We opened our doors at 8.30am expecting queues around the block and we weren’t disappointed. The Moshi phenomenon is incredible; we have already sold more Moshi toys over this Bank Holiday weekend, than we did in the run up to Christmas last year.”

With over 40 million Moshling Collectable toys sold in the UK to date and predicted sales of Vivid’s new Moshi range to reach a staggering £70 million by Christmas, Moshi – which has over 65 million registered users worldwide (and one new sign up per second) – is a monster phenomenon.
