Mulch Millionaire campaign sees first golden Bin Bot redeemed

Published on: 27th February 2013

Character Options has announced that the first golden Bin Bot in its blind bag collection has been redeemed, and now the hunt is on for 24 more as the company ramps up publicity for the campaign.

Launched in late Autumn 2012, the toy collection has been gaining in popularity with the online site’s 2.2 million users as they collect figures in the real world while redeeming virtual rewards online.

With the first of 25 golden Bin Bots being found last week by online user Megasaurus, the race is on for users to find the remaining rare figures that will see them become online Mulch Millionaires.

The quest to find the golden Bin Bots will be high on the agenda for users on the site who will hear about the first winner online and also through a kids press campaign reaching three million readers. The current TV campaign across satellite and terrestrial kids’ channels will also focus on the collectability of the figures and Bin Bots.

Kathryn Elliott from Character Options commented: “With the launch of series one blind bags we included 25 golden Bin Bots that would give huge online rewards to the finders, and now that the first has been found, fans are keen to be the next in line to become Mulch Millionaires. This extra special reward is the perfect way to cross the barrier between virtual and real worlds and has really ignited the interest of the fans whilst helping to promote and encourage collectability.”
