Spin Master’s Meccano Meccanoid G15 KS robot has won three top awards this year.
These include a poll position in the Top 10 Best Toys as voted for by children at this years’ ToyTesters.tv Awards. In addition to being the overall winner, it was also named Best Invention and Best Construction toy.
Emma Eden, marketing manager for Meccano UK, commented: “To say we are thrilled with these awards in an understatement. It’s always great to win awards, but it’s particularly special when it’s something that’s been chosen by the kids themselves.”
Meccanoid has been scooping up a host of other awards including the top prize in the Cool Factor category at the toy review site, Toy Verdict Awards. Meccanoid was also runner up in the Junior Design Awards for Best Toy aged 6+, with the Meccano 25 Model Set also winning a top award in the Dad’s Choice awards.
Meccano sets had the opportunity to be part of the Super Camps experience this summer, plus both Meccano and Meccanoid enjoyed global media attention when a group of students built a 100ft bridge from Meccano in September.
Spin Master has now reported a wealth of interest from schools which are keen to invite Meccanoid into the classroom to help engage students in computing, technology and psychology studies.
