National Toy Hall of Fame reveals 12 toys up for induction

A selection of toys are up for consideration into the hall, located in Rochester, New York.

playmobil480The hall will announce which two toys will be a part of the Class of 2015 on 5th November.

Toys up for induction are American Girl dolls, Battleship, the colouring book, Jenga, Playmobil, puppets, the scooter, the Super Soaker, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, the spinning top, Twister and Wiffle Ball.

Certain criteria must be met before a toy is inducted into the hall, including longevity, icon-status, discovery, and innovation.

The National Toy Hall of Fame was created in 1998 and has 56 toys in it already, including Barbie, Play-Doh, the Frisbee, Lego and the Nintendo Game Boy.
