The new comic strip album Asterix and the Missing Scroll will be launched across the globe on October 22nd.
According to property owner Les Editions Albert Rene, Asterix and the Missing Scroll is predicted to be an international bestseller, with an initial print run of five million, supported with strong PR and media campaigns.
Asterix has enjoyed success since its launch in 1959, when it was created by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. In the publishing field, Asterix has featured in 35 albums, which have sold more than 360 million copies worldwide. Asterix has also featured in a series of movies, the latest of which – The Mansions of the Gods, released earlier this year – represented the first time the character has been seen in CGI.
The release of the new album is expected to provide momentum for the brand going into 2016, when more activity is promised. Such activities include a new version of the classic album Asterix at the Olympic Games which is to coincide with the 2016 Olympics, and a release of a new style guide featuring images dedicated to sports.
