Guidance will be implemented from June 2017.
CAP will be publishing its new ‘Recognition of advertising: online marketing to children under 12’ guidance this month. This guidance contains new industry rules for all companies advertising and marketing to children online.
The BTHA has been working closely with CAP and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) over the last 12 months on the writing of this guidance, and the ASA has offered to provide all BTHA members with a free training session on the CAP Code’s remit, and this new recognition of advertising guidance. This is an opportunity for companies to ask questions and get clarification on the new rules and practices directly with the ASA before it comes into force from June.
