New licensing and merchandising event to hit London

Published on: 31st March 2016

Leading players from all three sides of the Licensing Triangle will be represented on 5th May at Chelsea Football Club.

l&mshow480Retailers and licensees such as Asda, Avon, Fashion UK, Gemma, Hallmark, Hornby, Igloobooks, International Greetings, Marks and Spencer, Mothercare, Sainsbury’s, Sapona and The Entertainer will be joined by IP owners and agents such as Carte Blanche Group, Discovery Consumer Products, FremantleMedia, Metrostar Media, TSBA, Withit World and Zodiak Kids to identify commercial opportunities at a critical time in the industry’s annual planning and decision cycle.

Carl Lumbard, organiser of Licensing & Merchandising Showcase, said: “We have been really encouraged by the response of the licensing industry in such a relatively short space of time since announcing the event. It seems that we have clearly delivered the right format, at the right time and in the right location. Timing is one of the critical elements in licensing and we have identified the need for an event in the spring when retailers and licensees can identify the commercial opportunities in plenty of time to be able to meet the schedules for next year’s autumn/winter season.”

Ian Mallalue, chief executive of TSBA Group, a leading independent licensing agency attending the event, added: “Licensing & Merchandising Showcase represents a fantastic opportunity to have some in depth dialogue with key industry players at a pivotal time in the buying cycle. We’re even putting footballing allegiances aside to be there.”
