A number of toy stores have announced the opening of new premises.

High-street-openings-480Smyths has announced it will be taking over the former Mothercare unit at Riverside Retail Park in Chelmsford. The branch will open at the end of October.

DS Rogers, the owners of Rogers Toymaster in Banbridge, is to expand in Portadown, converting a 30,000 sq ft former Post Office site in the High Street. Owner Jonathan Rogers said a major refurbishment project will now take place to have the newly-acquired premises reading for opening in October.

Cuthberts Toys has opened the doors of its fourth store. The new shop is in Westgate Shopping Centre, Stevenage, occupying a 1,524 square foot retail unit.

Meanwhile, the Toy Barnhaus store in Redhill has moved to a new larger location within the Belfry Centre, opposite the former site. Owner Stephen Barnes commented: “The shop has now doubled in size, which means there is more space to show all the new ranges to their full effect.”
