Kidtropolis organisers hail 2018 event a success

Published on: 13th April 2018

Kidtropolis took place on Friday 6th April to Sunday 8th April at the NEC, Birmingham.

Welcoming over 21,000 visitors to the sell-out debut show at the NEC, the event delivered a 99% success rate among children and parents.

Amongst the popular areas at the show were The Entertainer Unboxing Zone, which featured YouTubers and the unboxing of products from Flair, Hasbro and Spin Master. Nintendo Switch was also busy throughout, along with the Shopkins Treat Truck, I-Top and Brio, all of whom offered free gifts and activities.

Live performances from Kira Kosarin, Kidz Bop and Andy Day and the Odd Socks proved popular with visitors, as did the giant 60 metre long inflatable obstacle course. Those attending the event could also enjoy the Mega Magazine Roblox & Minecraft area, roller skating, inflatable slides, carousel, soft play, trampolining, art and craft and messy play from Mess Around, a penalty shootout with Birmingham City Football Club, the Wasps Rugby Interactive Zone, and costume character meet & greets with Paw Patrol, The Lorax, Stick Man, My Little Pony’s Twilight Sparkle, The Gruffalo, Masha, and Legoland Discovery Centre’s Bertie.

Bryan Cooney, director at Kidtropolis, commented: “We are so thrilled with the feedback we’ve had from visitors. We have been astounded by the volume of thank you messages and incredible comments we’ve received. The team worked extremely hard to deliver our debut event at the NEC. Of course there are improvements to be made, which we will strive to deliver to ensure Kidtropolis is even more awesome next time. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our next show.”
